EMESET 8MG TABLET is used to provide relief from sensation of nausea and vomiting. It contains a medicine called Ondansetron which is an anti-emetic medicine. It reduces the nausea and vomiting sensation by blocking the vomiting centres of the brain.
Before taking EMESET 8MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have severe constipation, heart or liver problems, imbalance with the levels of salts in the blood, such as potassium, sodium and magnesium or if you have been scheduled for any surgery.
Consult your doctor before taking EMESET 8MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The dose of EMESET 8MG TABLET will depends on the age, body weight and disease condition of your child. Dosage adjustment is not required in elderly patients, hence consult your doctor before taking EMESET 8MG TABLET.
The most common side effects of taking EMESET 8MG TABLET includes headache, flushing and constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these above symptoms gets worse.
EMESET 8MG TABLET is anti-emetic medicine which works by blocking the action of serotonin, a natural substance in the body that can trigger nausea and vomiting. Take EMESET 8MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.
For Tablet, Capsule: Swallow EMESET 8MG TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in the specified quantity of water as mentioned in the label. Consume the medicine immediately after reconstitution.
For Oral Disintegrating strips: Place the medicine directly on your tongue and allow it to dissolve. For fast-dissolving strips, place the strip on your tongue or the inside of your cheek.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.
Pregnant women should only use EMESET 8MG TABLET if prescribed by a doctor, after assessing the benefits and risks.
Limited data is available on the use of ondansetron during breastfeeding. While no harmful effects have been reported in breastfed infants, ondansetron is excreted in breast milk. Therefore, breastfeeding mothers should consult a doctor before using this medicine as a precaution.
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy or uneasy after taking EMESET 8MG TABLET.
EMESET 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking EMESET 8MG TABLET.
Do not take EMESET 8MG TABLET if you are allergic to ondansetron, granisetron or palonosetron or to any other ingredients of this medicine.
EMESET 8MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with heart diseases such as uneven heartbeats (arrhythmias) or congestive heart failure.
EMESET 8MG TABLET can be used in children if prescribed by the physician.
EMESET 8MG TABLET can be used in elderly patients if prescribed by the physician.
